The Vatican Excludes Creationism and Intelligent Design

Speakers invited to attend a Vatican-sponsored congress on the evolution debate will not include proponents of creationism and intelligent design, organizers said. He reiterated that evolutionary theory “is not incompatible with the teachings of the Catholic Church or the Bible’s message.” Catholic News Service

The Vatican which is opposed to basic Christianity such as God being the creator of all things and numerous other subjects in Scripture which we will not go all into here. So what kind of evolution debate is it? Evolution vs Evolution? It seems kinda shallow to me to have such a debate. There are many things in evolution which is not scientific. Computer simulations is one of them. In a complex world with massive variables on unknowns, computers are programmed with information that is very limited, so you have no accurate measure or even coming close to replicating nature.

It also should be noted that creationists and ID proponents were not the only one’s excluded from the debate, also hardcore or militant Neo-Darwinists were not invited either…

“Archbishop Gianfranco Ravasi, president of the Pontifical Council for Culture, said the other extreme of the evolution debate — proponents of an overly scientific conception of evolution and natural selection — also were not invited.” Catholic News Service

Pope Pius XII even though said evolution was going to be a passing scientific fad back in the 1950s, however, he still implied in his encyclical, HumaniGeneris the idea of “theistic evolution” (a mixture of evolutionary science with religion) which he thought was acceptable in Catholicism.

“The Teaching Authority of the Church does not forbid that, in conformity with the present state of human sciences and sacred theology, research and discussions, on the part of men experiences in both fields, take place with regard to the doctrine of evolution, in as far as it inquires into the origin of the human body as coming from pre-existent and living matter—for the Catholic faith obliges us to hold that souls are immediately created by God.”

John Paul II, the most popular Pope of the modern era, took it a step further…

“Today, almost half a century after publication of the encyclical, new knowledge has led to the recognition of the theory of evolution as more than a hypothesis.  It is indeed remarkable that this theory has been progressively accepted by researchers, following a series of discoveries in various fields of knowledge.  The convergence, neither sought nor fabricated, of the results of work that was conducted independently is in itself a significant argument in favor of the theory.”

So instead of suggesting a more theistic approach or a biblical approach (creationism), and evolution being a fad, Pope John Paul II says it’s no longer a mere hypothesis but more like factual. The Vatican’s endorsement of evolution with it’s excluding of creationism and ID is a sad commentary on it’s corrupt views on what the Bible says, and who’s goal is to unite all religions and non-religious people under the Pope…
